I just got home from recording a demo tape at a real live music studio!!!!! I can't believe it! I'm so excited!!!! This songwriting duo was taking demos for a young female singer to sing their song they wrote. So I called and got an appointment and went in this morning at 10:30am. It only took about 20 minutes. I sang a few Jewel songs because that's all I have stuck in my head these days (the last couple weeks leading up to the first concert of Jewel's I will attend!) So I started out with YWMFM and couldn't remember the words after "got my maple syrup everything but you" so I jumped to the chorus then attempted the next verse and couldn't remember the words either...but I was singing great! Then I sang "Don't" and he said to sing the last part again and he taped me. I got a copy of the tape...it's pretty cool, although I sang it better the first time...not as much pressure I guess. Then he wanted something a little more up beat so I tried so hard to remember the words to WWSYS which I don't think I even know...funny how you can sing along to a song for years and not know the lyrics! So I attempted "Amen" and my voice just broke/cracked whatever you want to call it on the last 'up-octaved' amen and halelujah part....AHHH!!! I was so embarrassed....but hopefully they will choose me! I guess it depends on who else demos. It was just so cool to feel like Jewel for evena minute, with the headset on and singing in a real sound proof room in a real music studio with a real microphone (the kind with the big round screen thingy over it...I forget what he called it) AHHH!!!! I'm so syched right now.... Just thought I would share with you's all...thanks for listening to my blabbering!
