People kill people." I believe that people DO kill people- we've all seen enough of it. But I think guns are what gives people the incentive to kill- they look at it as an easy way to get rid of the troubles in their lives. Without guns, I think we'd all be a lot safer, and there'd be a lot less death in the world. But a lot of people believe that because the Constitution (which I think needs to be updated for the way our world has changed) which says you have the right to bear arms means you MUST have a gun. Just look at the NRA. We really really need to get rid of that stuff. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Apr 1999 18:47:35 EDT From: Trexd5@aol.com Subject: ET: Fwd: I tend to disagree - --part1_64e7a8a8.245b8d07_boundary Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit - --part1_64e7a8a8.245b8d07_boundary Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Return-path: Trexd5@aol.com From: Trexd5@aol.com Full-name: Trexd5 Message-ID: <64e7a8a8.245b8ce8@aol.com> Date: Fri, 30 Apr 1999 18:47:04 EDT Subject: I tend to disagree To: NoWay345@aol.com MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="part2_64e7a8a8.245b8ce8_boundary" X-Mailer: AOL 3.0 16-bit for Windows sub 38 - --part2_64e7a8a8.245b8ce8_boundary Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit - --part2_64e7a8a8.245b8ce8_boundary Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Return-path: Trexd5@aol.com From: Trexd5@aol.com Full-name: Trexd5 Message-ID: <64e7a8a8.245b8c78@aol.com> Date: Fri, 30 Apr 1999 18:45:12 EDT Subject: Re: ET: (no subject) To: NoWay345@aol.com MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Mailer: AOL 3.0 16-bit for Windows sub 38 Says who that we have to get rid of Guns or the NRA..... its not the guns fault... its the mental people who use guns as a way out of problems !!!! YOu dont punish the responsible people because there is a few psycho cray freeks who try to blow up a school... or people who kill other people..... ~Dan - --part2_64e7a8a8.245b8ce8_boundary-- - --part1_64e7a8a8.245b8d07_boundary-- ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Apr 1999 17:53:38 PDT From: "Erin Benoit" Subject: Re: ET: Fwd: I tend to disagree Whoah whoah whoah!!!! Wait a minute here. How is taking away a possible injury punishing someone. I'm sure people who like guns can find a new hobby!!! Or have certain places only to target practice...but there should be a hell of a lot more restrictions and regulations for the average Joe to own a gun. Now, I agree people kill people...however...People use guns to kill people. Period. Guns allow the angry person or the upset person to act out on their anger now...it's a quick solution to a problem...in a time when they are not in their right mind. I think the first step IS to take away the guns...it's like an abused provelege...have you ever had TV priveleges or an allowence taken away because you were abusing it? Well, it's the same thing...so in a sense yes, that's punishing...but we as a whole, as a society have to prove that we can handle the responsiblility of guns in trust and with care...so far we haven't proved that at all! If you consider getting rid of guns for the access of the average Joe then that is your qualm...your problem...you should find a new hobby...because I'm sorry, but I would like to keep my friends and family and loved ones safe in this world and just knowing there are guns out there prohibits me and them from doing our hobbies....I know many people that don't feel safe after dark just walking down their street...we can't go see a late movie or go dancing or whatever...because we are afraid of what might happen...these are more everyday things I'm talking about and target practice...get a little rubber sticky gun...I'm sorry but there are too many dead people from your hobby...not mine so where's the problem here? ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of eda-thoughts-digest V2 #125 **********************************
