Subject: ET: What's wrong with Marilyn Manson??¿¿ Hello beautiful Angels, I just got back from my vacation and was astounded to see only 83 messages, i though I'd have a couple hundred or so just from the list! Anyway, I noticed that there are a few people who think that a collaboration between Jewel and Marilyn Manson wouldn't be a good thing on the part of Jewel. I just have 1 question... What's so wrong with MM besides his looks and his religious outlook that Jewel shouldn't do this with him? He has a very simple statement through his music that we need to be our own people and think for ourselves. I can understand that The hard rock that he does is not liked by all just solely it is hard rock or grunge to some but his message is good! I personally couldn't see Jewel and MM doing something together solely because how different the 2 styles are but i think it is possible! If they did do something together i think it would be hot because they are 2 great minds. We are all given the right to opinions but false judgement on the basis of looks and sounds is wrong. The J list is always slow around the holidays....folks have better things to do.....college kids went home and unsubbed...Jewel not doing much....we had like 12 or 13 straight days or so with one digest. I even had one morning with ZERO posts sent in overnight....first time that's happened since the list went moderated. Hi ya angels... well 1998 is almost over and I usually do a little look back on the music that I've been listening throughout the last year and what I liked the best... and I'm curious as to what some of you preferred... so those of you who'd want to... can e-mail me with their TOP 10 (or less) albums that they loved most in the year that's passing... NOTE> Only CD's released in 1998 and 1997 are allowed for this!!! Of course there are always exceptions, like Paula Cole's / This Fire that was released in 96, but this year it was 6 times Grammy nominated and a Grammy winner of best new artist (although it's a second album - I think it should be called best breakthrough... or maybe 2 categories)... so that one clearly applies... so if a bit older album comes with good arguments it will be considered... Ok so please if you have any interest at all mail me...I already got 2 lists and I gotta say it's mighty interesting already... So if the response is decent... I'll post the results on the list... - -- Have fun and stay beautiful Dr. RomeAntic, an angel with the worst stroke of luck "My inner vision, dulled and darkened I keep myself away to you I fuck my sorrow humbly And throw my crown upon the ground It's you I hope for And us I pray for And me that I believed was wrong But now my anger is my best friend Be careful I may bite your head off" Paula Cole / Throwing Stones / This Fire Catch Dr. RomeAntic's cyber image @ http://www.geocities.com/Paris/Metro/2009 ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 30 Dec 1998 23:32:02 -0500 From: cmgordon2@juno.com (Courtney M Gordon) Subject: ET: self expression Dear yall, what is it about Marilyn Manson that scares everyone so much? If you don't like him, don't listen to him! There's your solution! It's that simple! Like, if you didn't like Ross Perot, were you gonna vote for him in the election a few years back? I don't think so! Don't vote for a president you don't like, don't listen to artists you don't approve of! Viola! See, if you don't listen to those people, don't go to their concerts, and turn the channel/station everytime you see/hear them, then you have solved your problem! If you know you are not going to like what you hear or see when the name "Manson" comes up, then DON'T LISTEN!!! It can't possibly be that hard to leave the room or better yet, change the channel or station! And if you really are that lazy that pushing a button or turning a knob wears you out, then sweetheart, you've got yourself a problem and you shouldn't be in contact with electronics. Marilyn Manson is living the American dream. He is getting paid for what he loves to do. If he's gonna get paid to go onto a stage with Twiggy and the rest of them for about 3 hours, he may as well have some fun with it. Fact: He was a good student. Mama's boy. Shy. timid. Donchya think that sweet little ole' Brian Warner might've gotten sick of being that close to being Greg Brady for 12 years? don't listen to something you don't like, sweetie. love and lolllipops Courtney that bitchy chick who doesn't keep her mouth shut when she should. ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
