Well, siiigh, here's the next. Oh and here's some Ben & Jerry's sorbet. Sorry, I'm all out of my aunt's homemade ice cream, it went really fast. Still trying to smile.... =) Sam the ? seawater angel "Baby, my sweet baby...." Okay. This first one, well I had this oldie from "Dirty Dancing" going around in my head, go figure. It's still all mine, but it's, eh, strongly influenced. So if it's dumb, ignore it. It's way short too. "Baby Oh My Baby" SM May 31 1998 Baby Where's my baby He's gone off somewhere Be back someday Bebe I'm goin' crazy Come back to me Where could you be Babe It's the end of the day I need my baby Don't go, please stay This next one is about my boyfriend being gone. Hmm. I guess I don't really see how that consistent line fits in though. Ohhh well. SM May 31 1998 The sun's gone down, it's night again I've got the mood, I've got the pen Only problem is, My wit's at end and you won't break my heart again Blinds are drawn, lamplight glows What you're thinking, I don't know Did you ever wonder How it really goes and you won't break my heart again I've finally sunk my heart has drowned Dark settles in without a sound I'm entire desolate when you're not around and you won't break my heart again This last one (for now! haha) is some advice that my cousin gave me when I was obsessed with a college guy. She's awesome (my cousin), eh, I've changed a few things about this poem though. You know, certain words. Oh and guys, don't get offended, it's meant to be taken lightly (this guy was a bit of a creep anyhow). Maggie's Advice March 21, 1998 Just forget him what does it really matter? Oops okay So he's a hot one here But honestly these guys don't care The object of their affection At most? Their hair So lose them the messin' around creeps I've got news They're the real freaks So what if he says babe, you're gorgeous You know that is what he does best You can hear him degrading you behind your back He will smile and screw you right off track So who cares he's worthless I swear and remember Better guys are out there moonsong@ix.netcom.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 31 May 1998 22:42:42 -0700 From: moonsong@ix.netcom.com (Us) Subject: ET: the ones w/explainations #1 Hi all you angel poets and buenos noches, Tell me if you're sick of me. That will hurt though so you don't have to do it, now that I think of it. :) Okee dokee, well needless to say I'm in another lousy mood right now because I haven't talked to my boyfriend in a week. These have been the longest 2 weeks of my entire life and it's only halfway over. I wish he'd come back. Ditch Texas! Uhm, I saw "Dirty Dancing". Identified entirely with the whole thing. Amazing. It's my favorite now. Alrighty. So don't you ever wonder, "what the heck is she talking about and how did she get these ideas"? Uh, maybe not. Nevertheless I'll include little info thingies this time. See tonight I was looking through a notebook that I forgot I had, and discovered more poems. Wow. What a surprise eh? Oh, I'm going to break it up into two emails so I don't overwhelm you all LOL. Okay so here we go. I hope you all are very happy, make it up for me. Comments are always loved. :) Sam the ? seawater angel "I thought I saw you last night" ~SP & JK~ Here's kind of a long one. I don't remember what I wrote it about, unfortunately, it's pretty self evident though. Sorry if I sent it already awhile ago. I don't think I did. by SM on March 21 1998 I'm sitting here, it's dark outside Street lamps on and the news, it lied And the glow against the empty street Fades beside the highway's far-off beat I look in the mirror at the curls around my face And I try to think well I still have faith The click & the hum of a far away plane Remind me of how much I have drained The night with its shadows all around Creeps with the trees' whispering sound The stars in the sky dazzle the moon And she kissed the air with a silky croon So I sit with another cup of coffee Hour before I had raspberry tea And the comforting shine of too many lamps Makes the room cozy as the silence danced But the house is empty without you Maybe it's something that I overdo Though the sun still sets I cannot explain That the echo of love has left its stain And the stars still dream as they left behind The comets that are imprinted on their mind But I just can't say I'm like that Leaving and not helping to glance back Cause I never was one to easily leave Though I admit that if I try I can grieve So while the birds and trucks are content I wish that this day wasn't already spent Green nail polish chips unevenly My heart will beg & my eyes will see But while fragments & pieces I can fix I'll wait this one out with few kicks So I watch as the dawn creeps in At the flowers I've drawn with my pen And as the world wakes the trees alive I still try feeling you by my side And I sit as the highway rumbles on Playing its distant mellow song This place is empty even with sun That streams like a heart newly broken moonsong@ix.netcom.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 1 Jun 1998 09:43:58 EDT From: ABershaw@aol.com Subject: ET: MrBB-updated "Winter Song" Lyric Transcription Good mornin all, Last night we were scoping out Jewel's wonderful performance of "Winter Song" on the Rolling Stone documentary & noticed that the lyrics have developed & changed quite a bit since the original transcription AmyJo posted last year. The original transcription was from the very first version of it that Jewel sang during the October 97 Europe Tour. It's developed & is a bit more refined, now. There's a very good chance this will be included on Jewel's new album. Here's the updated lyrics for your enjoyment. MrBB "Winter Song" by Jewel Kilcher (Originally written 10/97. This updated transcription is from the 2/98 version included in the RS documentary) Turn to me with frozen lips Your hands are icy cold Your eyes burn bright Against the frost lit sky You never seemed more lovely than you do tonight Pale on the horizon Like leaves frozen in the snow Two bodies merging seperately Time stands still If its pierced with cold Chorus: The Moonlight hears The Moonlight knows What’s simple is true And I love you Theres a warmth in my heart It haunts me when you're gone Mend me to your side And never let go Time knows nothing We'll never grow cold The Moonlight hears The Moonlight knows What’s simple is true And I love you The twilight descends On our sillouhettes How soon Spring comes How soon Spring forgets I wanna stop time Say "It'll never begin" Old Man Winter be our friend Old Man Winter be our friend The Moonlight hears The Moonlight knows What’s simple is true What’s simple is true And I love you ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 1 Jun 1998 12:30:47 EDT From: ABershaw@aol.com Subject: ET: MrBB-Jewel's grandmother's poetry Hello again, Although this is not direct Jewel content, I know all the EDAs that enjoy poetry will be interested in this. I've finally had a chance to read "Voice Of An Initiate". This is a book of Ruth Mariott Kilcher's poetry that was originally published in 1988 & then reprinted in 1989. For those who don't know, Ruth is Jewel's grandmother & the person most directly responsible for the Kilcher Family's legacy of music, poetry & spirituality in general. She passed on last September, but this book is a wonderful way to get to know her better. I'm one who never really read much poetry (other than song lyrics) but I enjoyed Jewel's book, much like the majority of you, I'm sure. I think that anyone who enjoyed Jewel's book will most certainly enjoy Ruth's book. I'll include a sample following this post. If you're interested in this, a limited quantity of copies are still available from The Kilcher Alaska Webstore. For more info or to order, go to: http://www.kilcheralaskastore.com/ Here's one of the 57 poems included in "Voice of an Initiate". (This is one of two in the book that is printed from Ruth's handwritten transcript so I've typed it out in accordance to the way it was written on the page.) Enjoy! MrBB "Prologue 1988" by Ruth Mariott (Kilcher) Ah yes dear friend- so newly found and in the twilight of our years- before the sinking sun has set Imagination fires our souls So lightly and so freely does the spirit bestow its favors on the ones who- more than others- speak and understand it's language happy to communicate Like children once again we watch - -amazed and awed- the splendor of celestial fires delightful and surprising in brilliance of explosion showers of sparks descend upon us from the lively interaction of a thousand sparkling fountains and breathlessly caught up in jubilant glee and cosmic celebration our hands reach out for falling stars Until we recognize that we are the Center the very Heart of Matter and Creation While eons drip from our fingertips ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 01 Jun 1998 18:30:05 +0200 From: "Dr. RomeAntic" Subject: ET: Well... I dared to post some poems! Hi angels! Well I read the last digest and it's been a great one all the way through... a post form Naomi & Jamie and it would've been EDA-allstars vol.1! :) Kirsten you go girl!!! :) And Kat that was just amazing! Partially cause I can relate to the theme that spreads through all of them and the other is just this sincerety and mixed(yet obvious)-raw feelings that you let into them - can only show how important that somebody is to you! Thank you for sharing that and I hope you don't mind me including them into my private poetry archive! OK... so I said on last two occasions I'll be posting some poems the next time... so I'll finally do that... and I'll start with some not so great ones... UNCOMFORT Being so unelathy Opposite you You notice I noticed Your beauty My mess of appearance Disgusts you (probably) What could I possibly do To impress you And who said It's the insides that matter For I can't close enough So you could see I'm sorry I made you uncomfortable SLEEPING BEAUTY Vibrations of the sun-rays Over our bodies We both wickedly hide our faces In the shadow I watch you sleep With the serious Lip shape All I want is to make you smile That mystical smile of yours But I dare not touch Cause I might wake you And you would disappear Like this speck of dust On the curtain Over an open window USELESS QUESTIONS What is the language you speak What is the joke that makes you laugh What is the movie that makes you cry What is the world that is your life Where does one go to catch you hiding Where does one sail where you are calm Where does one breathe your opium smell Where is your silhuette really you Could it be it's not beside you Could it be it's inside a dream Could it be I'm lacking distance Could it be I'll never know Are these all just useless questions OK... more next time... so stop me know... cause if I start going I could even race with Sam... hmmmmm... naaahhh... nobody can match Sam! She is the far most productive! At least someone has constant inspiration! :) Bye all! - -- Dr. RomeAntic, an angel with the worst stroke of luck "Can you turn me off Just a second, please Turn me into something Faceless, weightless, mindless, homeless, vacuum state of peace On and on and on and on and on and on and on and on I believe in me" K's Choice/Believe/Cocoon Crash Check Dr. Romeantic's Cyber Image @ http://www.geocities.com/Paris/Metro/2009 ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 01 Jun 1998 14:48:38 PDT From: "Kerry *jo*" Subject: ET: Hi all!
