Hiding in the high grass. Looking her over, what are they thinking?! She didn't see them, but their presence was felt, the occasional movement of the leaves here, a weak scent, and a deep instinct telling her to run, run away as far as she could, as quickly as she could. When she got up that morning, she hadn't expected the day to turn out this way. She hated getting up in the morning, being prodded until she got up, hurried out of her residence and into the endless flow of life, being surrounded at all times by it all, the sharp smell of sweat turning the cold air of morning more humid. She always got the feeling her life was being observed by someone else, guiding her to the decisions he wanted her to make, as if preparing her to be slaughtered for food, so his wife could make his children lamb chops. She had always been the black sheep, the outcast. She didn't mind. In fact, she liked it better that way. Noone would bother her when she was thinking to herself about the bigger issues in life, like what the world would be like if she weren't in it. At times she managed to get away from them all, into the green hills. There she found her peace. But it got lonely at times, though, and she wanted someone nearby to protect her from her fears. Like that day. There was a noise behind her, and another on her right. As she turned to run, she could see them leap after her, start chasing her, catching up to her. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Apr 1998 09:45:57 +0300 (IDT) From: Michael Regev Subject: ET: Nature's Way - Part 2 As he woke up that morning, he felt the urge building up within him, a hunger that could not be fed by blackberries. He got up and shook the night off, taking a long drink of water, lapping the cold fluid into his dry mouth. They lived as a group, sharing everything, eating together, sleeping together, playing together, dying together, hunting together. It was all there was to it. Watching the world from where he was drinking, he could see them stepping into the cruel world, led into their oblivion through the grazing grounds below. The fools! He knew that today he would feed that hunger on one of them. As the others woke up, they started watching their prey, trying to find an opening. Slowly they descended, improving their view points, keeping themselves hidden. He saw one of the ewes leaving that herd, isolating herself, a perfect target. They started their approach. Slowly they surrounded her, being careful not to let their presence be known, as silent as they could be. He could see one of his comrades silently lowering himself to the ground on the right of him. He could see another friend standing perfectly still, as the victim stared directly at him, but saw nothing. He could feel the adrenaline flowing his blood. His muscles tensing. Blood filling his eyes. Ready for the kill. Waiting only for the sign to start the attack. And then it came, and he leaped out towards her, trying to get her before she could return to safety. He was quickly closing in on her. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Apr 1998 10:08:17 +0300 (IDT) From: Michael Regev Subject: ET: Nature's Way - Epilogue Once in a while, this kind of thing happened. There wasn't much I could do, sitting below a tree, playing my pan's flute, seeing in the distance my black sheep pursued by a pack of wolves. No matter how good a shepherd you are, no matter how good your dog is, there will always be the occasional stray, leaving the flock, getting hunted down by predators. There was nothing I could do. No point in trying to chase those wolves off. They were just to far off, and I had to stay with the flock. Everyone knows that if you leave your flock, you could get hunted down by wolves. That's nature's way. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Apr 1998 15:44:43 EDT From: Lucky997 Subject: ET: A poem : ) Hey guys~Here's a poem I wrote last night...I don't really think it's that good...but I just wrote it, so I thought I'd post it to you guys...It's about...well, my ex-boyfriend and I broke up a while ago...I ended it...we're best friends now...but he has a new girlfriend and now I have been wanting him back so much... Now I write about how they are just as great. :) Well, I was re-introduced to a girl name Laura who I went to school with for 2 years, but not this year. I quickly realized that she was what I needed, and for some odd reason I told her that I liked her, and she said she liked me too. :) She is really what I need right now, and I hope it works out. My friends said that they haven't seen me this happy in months. :) and now for some thoughts on one of my fave drinks.... Ode To Vanilla Coke Coke cures, Vanilla soothes, Vanilla Coke is a relaxing cure for what ails you, A '50's drink, A John Travolta Pulp Fiction drink, A very good drink, The bottom of the glass, Either full of Vanilla, Or full of Coke.
