Today's Subjects: ----------------- iamthemorning [Rolf Peukert ] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sun, 28 Apr 2013 15:48:44 +0200 From: Rolf Peukert Subject: iamthemorning Another wonderful new arrival in my player is the album "~" (yes, twiddle or tilde) by the band iamthemorning from St. Petersburg in Russia. Their music could be described as neo classical, folk influenced chamber prog. Marjana Semkinas breathy, ethereal vocals and the flowing piano by Gleb Kolyadin form the core of most songs, to be joined in by the string section with Alina Shilova (cello), Ilya Dyakov (violin) & Filipp Buin (viola) and/or the rock section with Eugene Abzalov (guitar), Max Roudenko (bass) and Mikhail Istratov (drums). Might appeal to people who like Tori Amos' first solo albums, or maybe Jesca Hoop (Kate Bush fans should check out the song 5/4 :-) The album is available for streaming at their bandcamp page: http://iamthemorningband.bandcamp.com/ A video for the song "Touching": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2N7CnnxBqU 5/4 (not on the album) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ML49sSzJn8E I think this new song is called Romance (really like Marjanas voice here) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ojec9WvFpnc Best wishes Rolf ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V16 #753 ***************************
