Kickstarter campaign Neal Copperman is probably too humble too post this ,but the awesome world music festival, !Globalquerque!. of which Neal is one of the key partners, has launched its first Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to help cover this year's festival. The line-up this year is incredible... I'm particularly looking forward to Bettye Lavette. This is one of the biggest events in Albuquerque, and for those of you who like world music, you really should consider coming out to Albuquerque to experience it. Despite being a big festival for Albuquerque, it's a small cozy festival by other standards, held at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, on 3 beautiful different stages, over the course of two nights, with free day programming on Saturday. Plus, fall is the best time to visit Albuquerque, it's green chile roasting season after all! The Big Spank (NM, USA) Bombino (Niger) Canteca de Macao (Spain) Daniel Kahn & The Painted Bird(Germany) La Familia Vigil (NM, USA) Bettye LaVette (USA) Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto(Colombia) Ali Akbar Moradi Ensemble(Kurdistan, Iran) R. Carlos Nakai Earth Sounds Ensemble (Navajo-Ute/Mongolia/ UK) Ozomatli (USA) Plena Libre (Puerto Rico) Ti-Coca & Wanga-Nhghs (Haiti) Zeb & Haniya (Pakistan) And more to come! Would love to see some ecto-folk come out and/or support the festival! Jeff ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V16 #505 ***************************
