(Merida does vocals on both). I tend to agree that the band without Merida is not remotely the same. Related, has anyone heard/know where to find the Australian Ghost Story Live EPs (1-4) - -jason np My Bloody Valentine - Loveless (excited that the remastered version is coming out May 7th along with a 2cd EP disc including 7 unreleased tracks/rarities) On 4/17/12, Andrew Fries wrote: > On 04/17/2012 11:47 AM, Paul Blair wrote: > >> With Merida in London, Charles Bickford will be front and centre on >> vocals, >> with a little help from Esme MacDonald and Andy Hazel. Gnome I dunno if they've been talked about here; I didn't see an entry in the ectoguide. So far the best find in my search for bugmusic was a band called mr. Gnome, a duo out of Ohio. I went to their web site to find out if they had any CDs so I could have my local music shoppe order it, and discovered that they have a 3 CDs for $25 sale, ordered direct from the band. The disks just came today, and I'm very impressed. It's a singer/guitarist and drummer/et.al. duo. The music ranges from dreamy/etherial to loud/gritty. The closest I know of would be Cranes, with the heavily percussive sound and softwhisper vocals, but there's a bit of Breeders and Belly in there, and overall they feel much more diverse than Cranes. http://www.mrgnome.com/listen/ This is the song that I heard first, w/ music video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Zp6uyWeMHqU - -- brni i don't want the world, i just want your half. http://www.kappamaki.com/ http://brni.livejournal.com/ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Apr 2012 21:11:04 -0600 From: neal copperman Subject: Re: mr. Gnome I posted about them and shared that creepy video (still one of my fave mr Gnome songs) in 2008, right after I saw them for the first time. They come through Albuquerque pretty often. Usually about twice a year. I've seen them a couple of times and they are great. Huge sound for a duo, and a pretty dramatic, high energy show. I missed them a few weeks ago as we had our own show that night (Chinese/French/American chanteuse Jessica Fichot with local mangy jazz ensemble Le Chat Lunatique). neal np: Daja - Jienat (from Norway) - I am one minute into my first listen and loving it. Jazzy organic funky music with cool female Sami yoiking on top. I met one of these musicians and had watched some videos that I liked, but forgot what this was when I popped it in. Wow. This is really good. http://jienat.com/ On Apr 18, 2012, at 7:50 PM, Bernie Mojzes wrote: > I dunno if they've been talked about here; I didn't see an entry in the ectoguide.
