Today's Subjects: ----------------- Ecto should be prettier now, and music I've been loving [Jeff Wasilko Subject: Ecto should be prettier now, and music I've been loving I made a config change that should let 8-bit (fancy) characters to come thru now. Hopefully it won’t have any issues….. The recent mention of Wet Leg prompted me that I should mention some other music I’ve been loving…. For me, Wet Leg was pandemic music, and I’ve loved their new album too. I found Dry Cleaning about the same time too. KEXP has been a great place to stumble across new music. Some of it new, and some just new to me. Australia’s triple-J has also been a great source for new music. I somehow missed the boat on Magdalena Bay, and have been totally sucked into their back catalog as well as the newest stuff. The first thing I heard was their cover of “Ashes to Ashes” ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTN_Hxgaofo ) coupled with Image at triple-J https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDW60XZWUYI The other older band that I feel like I totally missed the boat on was The Dø (which is also a nice test of 8-bit characters!). KEXP set the wayback machine 10 years for me on this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qLB68zUItI I was also super sad that I somehow missed out on Chairlift and early Caroline Polacheck. I think KEXP also was my source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XYyDsl14E4 but the tiny desk concert was also great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmnZHQNN5cc That should be enough of a test of the list config change…. ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V16 #4004 ****************************
