I had written to her/her organization to get permission to cover "The Ukulele Anthem". YouTube has gotten very harsh about copyright infringement and will shut people down if they get three "copyright strikes" against their channel. Anyway, a gal from amandapalmer.net wrote back (Amanda Palmer is a very busy woman, so I would've been extremely surprised to hear back from her personally) and said go for it! She also told me where to post links after I had done the video. So Amanda saw it either on her official message board, THESHADOWBOX.NET or was pointed in my direction by Hayley (the gal who helped me out), I'm guessing. Needless to say, I'm thrilled to bits. :-P fleur On Mon, Apr 9, 2012 at 8:27 AM, Doug wrote: > Congratulations! I'm jealous. ;-) How did she find out? We'll be posting a different bit of bug-related music every day, from Easter to Easter. YoB #1 is "Ant" by They Might Be Giants It's at facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Journal-of-Unlikely-Entomology/184985971537791 The page is visible to both facebook peoples and non-facebook peoples. Thanks to all of you for helping make this possible. Bernie p.s. My actual list of bugmusic is now at nearly 600 entries, as people continue to make suggestions, and I integrate stuff from the other bug-music list (and I've only gotten through the "C"s!). And then there's weeding of stuff that may be in there because the band has a buggy name and whatnot, so, still a lot of compilation work ahead, but once it's all done I'll post a comprehensive list. Karine has sung backing vocals for her on Kim's new album, The Ornate Lie. So, I went to the website (http://www.kimedgar.com) and listened to samples from her older album, Butterflies and Broken Glass, and the new one. I kind of like her. We've not been to many gigs in a while (money issues, alas), but we are seeing Girlyman next month -- first tour to the UK since Doris' leukemia diagnosis and treatments -- and we're also checking out the Homage to Sandy Denny with Thea Gilmore, Maddy Prior and a whole lot of others.
