It's more than a little bit poppy, but I do not believe anyone mentioned Jim Stafford's "Spiders & Snakes" from the early 70s. The Danielle Dax song was on Inky Bloaters first. Loved the mention of Bowie's Glass spider. Not his best song. I was drawing a complete blank myself after reading through the many excellent suggestions (jetlag), but just then one came on the iPod: Venus Hum, "Hummingbirds", from Big Beatiful Sky Some others, after a quick glance through my music library (YaY remote access to the home PC): Sxip Shirey, "The Bed Bugs Are Back!", from Sonic New York. [A superb achievement, by the way, but not particularly ecto.] Richard Shindell, "Parasol Ants", from Not Far Now. My Brightest Diamond, "Dragonfly", from Bring Me the Workhorse Greg, who is quite enjoying Berlin but has yet to find the record store. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 6 Apr 2012 09:28:21 +0200 From: Rikke Findorf Subject: Re: question for the ecto collective mind What about: flies On the windscreen - depeche mode Lullaby - the cure And once again... Rats aren't terribly bug-like. There're more...rodenty. Now, Centipedes, Crabs, Lobsters, Millipedes, Spiders, Shrimp, Krill... those are good and buggy. :) Between Ecto and the Weirdomusicville facebook group, I'm up to 175 unique songs (and thats not breaking out all the Mirah songs). Pretty cool. The original goal was to have a month's worth of songs. Upon reflection, I suspect I may be able to do 365 days of bugsongs. Thanks, all.
