Hi, Robert--- It might be more that people don't have time to follow down a link to see what you're asking, which was my situation. I myself haven't seen Feist live but have and enjoy all her albums, and everyone I know who has seen her live has greatly enjoyed the experience. The reason I personally haven't seen her live is that there are few live siuations I can handle anymore in my dire and cranky old age. Standing around in a club for four hours through bands I don't like to hear one person when I have to be up in five hours for work doesn't suit me anymore. Neither do I like paying $50-$100 for a ticket at a fancy theatre. Feist played a few years ago in a great venue (The Triple Door, for those of you who know Seattle), and I've kicked myself ever since for not going. If I could afford the money for this one, I would probably go. Hope this helps! - --Neile On Tue, 14 Feb 2012, robert bristow-johnson wrote: > so, i guess no one opines about feist. i checked about some videos, > including collaborations with Wilco, and so far am underwelmed. > > now if it were Imogen Heep, that would be different. > > still disappointed that the likes of Happy and Noe do not tour. > > On 2/13/12 4:53 PM, robert bristow-johnson wrote: > > would this be a gig worth going to? > > > > http://www.highergroundmusic.com/event/feist > > > > just curious. we don't often get interesting music here in BTV. > > > > sometimes, but not often. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Feb 2012 13:58:01 -0600 From: Tim Jones-Yelvington Subject: Re: feist? Feist is not bad, but as a performer she is pretty underwhelming. If she was still at the $25 bar or cafe show level, I would recommend going. ~ tim On Tue, Feb 14, 2012 at 1:35 PM, robert bristow-johnson wrote: > so, i guess no one opines about feist. i checked about some videos, > including collaborations with Wilco, and so far am underwelmed. > > now if it were Imogen Heep, that would be different. > > still disappointed that the likes of Happy and Noe do not tour. > > > On 2/13/12 4:53 PM, robert bristow-johnson wrote: >> >> would this be a gig worth going to? >> >> http://www.highergroundmusic.com/event/feist >> >> just curious. we don't often get interesting music here in BTV. >> >> sometimes, but not often. >> > -- > > r b-j rbj@audioimagination.com > > "Imagination is more important than knowledge." ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Feb 2012 15:45:26 -0600 From: Tim Jones-Yelvington Subject: Re: feist? I think she's quite affable on record, I just found the live performance I saw a little bit canned and uninspired and I think some of the limitations in her voice in terms of her not having very much dynamic range or very many different timbres or modes of expressions begin to become a liability over a longer concert experience. ~tim On Tue, Feb 14, 2012 at 2:01 PM, Bernie Mojzes wrote: > I think Feist is the sort of thing that you either LOVE or say "meh" to.
