Today's Subjects: ----------------- Sea of Bees, wow [Karen Hester ] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri, 10 Feb 2012 22:45:21 -0500 From: Karen Hester Subject: Sea of Bees, wow She's a total dork and without guile. Jules's rambling disconnected stage patter and peculiar mannerisms make her music seem even more pure and unique. Also, she was wearing remarkably baggy-assed stone-washed jeans. I saw Sea of Bees solo at the Living Room, struggling post cold and imbibing hot toddies. A wee bit much alcohol for someone with a 40 minute set who looooves to talk :) Without her band we couldn't hear the new songs "in their skin" as she put it. Everything sounded good though, a mixture of oddness, delicious melody and surprising pop bursts. New album due April/May. It's partly about a relationship that's over but not "raging" but more a thank you gift. She (and band?) are heading to the UK and Europe April/May.
