Hi all - *Long* long time no post! So i'm guesting on a friend's podcast (The Ketchup Chip Tapes - it's not exactly ecto, but they chat about Canadian music along with whatever else is on their minds in typical podcast fashion). Their idea is the guest brings an artist/song/album to discuss. I actually was on it once before and we talked about a favourite (late) local Vancouver artist of mine, Elizabeth Fischer. But someone's audio cut out partway through so the episode never aired unfortunately. So this time i figured i'd stick with Vancouverites and we could discuss an ecto goddess, Veda Hille. The trouble is... i have no idea what to pick. I'm hoping to choose a song (or maybe a couple of songs) that best represent her work... probably something with some great piano playing, nature-inspired themes, etc. But it's hard. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm actually really partial to Precious Heart off her first full album... it's the song that first made me pay attention to her way back in the day, and it still makes me happy every time i hear it. But i'm not sure i'd say it's really representative of her work, despite the great piano. Maybe i should just pick an album... that's a lot to cover, but at least it would help span the gamut. But then... which album? Oh dear. I'm also just way out of date on my listening.
