The first half of Moses Sumney's Grae is also amazing. My less expected discovery from the week's releases is Lanterns on the Lake's SPOOK THE HERD. I've not heard/heard of them before and they are quite lovely. Have they been discussed before on the list? ~Tim On Fri, Feb 21, 2020 at 7:08 AM Doug wrote: > Why? > > Simple. > > For two reasons. > > Both > > --Agnes Obel-- > > **and** > > --Sarah Harmer-- > > HAVE NEW ALBUMS OUT TODAY! > > My Spotify will be on auto-loop all day, and for a few days to come. > > --Doug ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Feb 2020 19:07:13 +0000 From: Leonora Christina Skov Subject: Sv: Today is a glorious day Lanterns on the Lake is a lovely band. I have been following them since their debut, Gracious Tide, Take Me Home, from 2011 and I am actually listening to their latest offering right now. First track, When It All Comes True, is one of their very best songs. My favorite song from them is still Another Tale from Another English Town, though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEKBQ9oUtSU Besides the new Agnes Obel which I have not found the time to properly listen to yet, I am looking MUCH forward to the third album from Swedish dream pop outfit I Break Horses. I find their first single, Death Engine, an absolute highlight of 2020 so far along with new singles Sphere and Red from Polly Scattergood. If any of you are into neo classical piano music, this new track by Alice Baldwin is a stunner: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gm2lo8JpSDA And if any of you are into neo classical in general, I have made a Spotify-playlist of my all-time favorite songs with piano, cello, strings, electronica, and found sounds: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0RVS2GwutRFNqREgnbnkYN?si=z1KkNlPORxyTFoxv8 eVPzg I am a full-time novelist and this is the music I listen to while writing. So yep, they've been on the list before :) Lots of great suggestions to check out. Yum. My suggestion for the day is the song Murakami by Made in Heights. I know nothing about them. My wife played the song yesterday and I happen to be reading a book by Murakami right now, so it particularly struck me - but even without being a little familiar with Murakami, I think any ectophile will love this song. Later today I'll check out the rest of their stuff. I don't find any mention of them on this list or in the ectophiles guide. Maybe this song is atypical for them, but at least this song you should definitely give a listen! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hE4yCe12W4 - -seneca On Mon, Feb 24, 2020 at 11:09 AM Leonora Christina Skov < christina_skov@hotmail.com> wrote: > Lanterns on the Lake is a lovely band.
