This is the best song she's released since Philharmonics. So layered, so sonic...marvelous. The best part, however, is she seems to be channeling our very own Happy! If I'd heard this without knowing who was singing, I'd swear it was her. The background vocals and lyrical style are quite reminiscent of Happy Rhodes. Thanks Jon. Yeah, as SOON as I heard it, I was reminded of Happy for sure. You're right in that the lyrical approach is more similar to Happy as well. I'm excited to see what the resulting album that is (presumably) to follow will sound like and if it'll be in a similar mode. I haven't actually listened to her much since Philharmonics and was kind of surprised when Spotify notified me of her new single based on my past listening. I've gone back and I'm liking Aventine quite a lot. But, I am a LITTLE obsessed with relistening to this song in particular. Hope we hear more of that kind of work. Possibly the first great record of the decade? ... I love Aventine and Citizens of Glass but have never actually listened to Philharmonics. I did not realize it was considered so essential, I will have to take care of that. ~Tim On Wed, Nov 6, 2019 at 1:54 PM Jon Wesley Huff wrote: > Glad you liked it Doug!
