While at times it's got a little too much of the earnest piano balladeer thing going on, it's overall quite beautiful. Highlight: "Dokhtar Goochani," sung in Farsi. (By the way, anar means pomegranate, according to Wikipedia. Now the pomegranate on the album cover makes sense.) If you want more Marketa, or different Marketa, you can hear her duet cover of Neil Young's "Birds" at NPR: http://www.npr.org/blogs/allsongs/2011/11/18/142500791/song-premiere-marketa- irglova-sean-rowe-birds and you can hear her Tiny Desk Concert, including "Dokhtar Goochani" at http://www.npr.org/2011/11/10/142093707/marketa-irglova-tiny-desk-concert Kate Bush's 50 Words for Snow is still up for streaming even though it's released today. So if you want to sneak in another listen, it's at http://www.npr.org/2011/11/13/142133269/first-listen-kate-bush-50-words-for-s now Happy Thanksgiving in advance to all who celebrate. I know this will sound cliche, but I really am thankful for ecto, the friends I've made here, and all the wonderful music I've discovered through this list.
