Colin Vearncombe on this list. I was a bit surprised that there was never any feedback, so I'm trying once more - and give you an offer you can't refuse. Black had a chart hit in Europe in 1987 with 'Wonderful life'. His beautiful dark voice and his slightly melancholy, dark music made him a master of beautiful music. After three albums he was dropped by major label A&M Records and started his own record company 'Nero Schwarz' in 1992. Unfortunately, during the last two decades public interest in his music has declined, to a point where I'm really starting to worry. This man really deserves to get more attention than he does. (Much like Happy Rhodes, I might add!) Over the last two months I've done my bit, tweeting on Twitter, creating a fan website ( www.colinvearncombe.nl ) and mailing everyone I know about a special offer through his website. His music is really beautiful and personally I think he's got the best male voice in the business. It's hard for me to describe it, but if you listen for yourself, you might be able to come up with something. If you search for 'colin vearncombe' you can find lots of music on e.g. Soundcloud and YouTube. And then there's a compilation album of his work of the last two decades. It's called 'Any colour you like' and it's available on http://neroschwarz.bandcamp.com/ . Until the end of this month, you can download the compilation for just $1. Go to the page, click on 'Buy Now' and enter the discount code ' mrg4song '. You won't regret it. I really hope to read some reviews here, and perhaps you can spread the word. The man really deserves it! I'm usually better at editing myself. I do love this music, though, and so little of it is available elsewhere, and I especially was wildly excited to see more Natural History Museum tracks than those up on MySpace. - --N On Nov 16, 2011, at 6:53 PM, Neile Graham wrote: > Hey, can't wait until next week when Kate's album appears? > > Hop on over to Carol Keogh's soundcloud files at http://soundcloud.com/carolkeogh/sets > > Sweeter pop/rock? It's definitely worth a $1. I've been listening to it for a while--and while I don't have a deep emotional connection to the music or his voice yet--I do find some of the songs very good, particularly the song Two Churches has really captured me--others are just nice. Nothing I really dislike though--definitely worth the $1 download. So Marcel--did you influence Kim Wilde to cover "Wonderful Life"? I noticed she covered it on her latest covers album--and knew you were a big fan of both!
