Despite that these are the albums that really made an impression this year (in no particular order) Brandi Carlisle b By the Way, I Forgive You The LYNNeS (Lynn Miles and Lynne Hanson) b Heartbreak Song for the Radio Kim Wilde b Here Come the Aliens Holly Cole b Holly Jann Arden b These are the Days Frida Sundemo b Flashbacks and Futures Happy Rhodes b Ectotrophia Wendy Rule b Persephone (a little more experimental than her previous albums) Lisa Ekdahl b More of the Good Sarah Brightman - Hymn Minute Taker b Secret Songs b Volume 3 Rhian Sheehan b A Quiet Divide Judie Tzuke, Beverly Craven and Julia Fordham b Woman to Woman Lisa Gerrard had three notable releases b one with The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices b BooCheemish, One with David Kuckhermann b Hiraeth, and Dead Can Dancebs Dionysus b all worth listening to Minute Taker was probably one of the artists I listened to most this year. His remix of Yazoobs Winter Kills is sublime, and I picked his cover album released to fans as one of my favoritesbI got all his albums this year and his original material has yet to make as much an impression as his coversbI like it all, but none of his original albums standout as clearly from the rest. I also listened a lot to a local Santa Fe band called Half-a-Shipwreck. Their 2017 album To Come Across It Left Me Haunted is available for bName Your Priceb at bandcamp. Highly recommend it, and if you see them live I highly encourage it. Their covers include everything from Kate Bush to Janis Joplin to Aimee Mann to Melanie to Bruno Mars. Highly entertaining. They are working on a covers album that Ibm looking forward to. Jeff Hanson ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V16 #2447 ****************************
