I saw her locally a couple of weeks ago. She's a young folkie and singer-songwriter from rural Somerset who now is based in Bristol. Her voice is clear as a crystal. Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wk54H-OWCn4 I rather like her song "Sea Silk". Sea silk goes back hundreds of years -- a Jewish Mediterranean tradition of harvesting the fibre from clams (without hurting the clams). At this point, there's allegedly only one person left in the world who harvests, spins and weaves sea silk, Chiara Vigo, in Sardinia. MacFarlane actually wrote to Vigo about the song when she was first writing it, and Vigo invited MacFarlane to visit. After finding a great deal on a flight from Bristol to Sardinia, MacFarlane took her up on it. Great story, along with a great song.
