I've been a fan of theirs for a while (ever since I heard one of their songs playing in a store, and Shazam'd it!) and I think "Marble Skies" is their best yet. - --Sue ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Feb 2018 17:19:47 -0800 From: Neile Graham Subject: Re: new releases i'm enjoying, and some changes on my side Unfortunately, I can't stand operatic singing, so the only song I really like is "Embrase-moi sur la bC;che" which is the only one like Claire Diterzi's usual work. Apparently this is some kind of musical. I love a lot of her work, though, and highly recommend a lot of it--this one just isn't for me. My favorites are Tableau de Chasse and Rosa La Rouge, her theatrical piece on Rosa Luxembourg. Congratulations on your new name, Seneca, and I'll try to remember to use they/them for you. My brain is having a lot of trouble with pronouns and I slip up a lot, but I'm working on breaking that conditioning. A lot of people I love prefer them, and I really really want to stop misgendering them. My own favorite new releases are the new Bjork, which is really quite wonderful and the new Tune-yards, which is as always very shouty, earnest, and good. - --Neile > On Feb 6, 2018, at 4:33 PM, Seneca Spurling wrote: > > Hi ecto, > > I wanted to mention a couple of new releases I've been enjoying. > > Claire Diterzi has been mentioned on ecto before but my introduction to her > was hew new release L'Arbre en Poche. About 3.5 years ago I sung it quite a lot for my little girl to keep her quiet and peaceful. <3 2 years ago I shot all this footage on our euro trip not quite knowing what it was going to be used for. And this January they all came together into this music video! I posted the lyrics and some stills below, this song talks about the fluid nature of life, how everything is bound to move and change, always. <3 Ebb & Flow <3 Some stillshots from the vid: Rocking like boat On an open sea Back and forth on the waves Rocking endlessly Moving always Moving on It's fluid always All things come and go Like ebb and flow Swaying like a flower In a field in the wind Roots in the earth Swaying constantly It's moving always Moving on It's fluid always All things come and go Like ebb and flow Sending Love and wishing you a lovely day Edie - ------------------------------ Change email address / Leave mailing list Powered by YMLP ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V16 #2197 ****************************
