I actually discovered her through the Billy Childs-produced Laura Nyro tribute album, and was so blown away by her cover of Map to the Treasure that I specifically watched 20 Feet, which I still hadn't seen, to learn more about her. She is on an entirely different level, technique-wise, than any other vocalist I have ever seen live. Just mind boggling. And you won't really be able to fully discover or understand this without seeing her live, because it isn't really captured anywhere on record. ~Tim On Sun, Jun 12, 2016 at 6:22 AM, Phil Sainty wrote: > I just had the absolute pleasure of seeing Lisa Fischer and band > play live, and can only urge others to do likewise should you have > the opportunity. > > I was a little stunned to see her name on a poster a few days ago, > as it had seemed apparent in "20 Feet From Stardom" that she really > was happiest staying the backing singer role.
