It's called Kidsticks and will be out on May 27. "Moon" (listen here: http://www.theguardian.com/music/musicblog/2016/mar/02/beth-orton-hear-moon-f rom-new-album-kidsticks) sounds pretty good. But I listened to another song, "1973" on Spotify, and that's considerably less interesting. I've been meaning to post about some of the new music I've been listening to on Spotify. Garmarna - 6: Really enjoying this. I haven't listened to their older stuff in a while, so can't really compare, but I think this is more contemporary, electronic. Trip hop? There's a little rap I could do without, but it's just in one short place. Seems to only be available digitally in the US so far. Varttina - Viena: Nothing groundbreaking here, but another solid album from them. Anna Ternheim - For the Young: I think this was released last year. Sounds more interesting than her last album and less depressed than a lot of her work. Reminds me a lot of Sarah Blasko. Mary Chapin Carpenter - The Things That We Are Made Of: Another solid folk album. PJ Harvey - The Hope Six Demolition Project: Haven't listened to this enough, but am really interested to hear other people's impressions. The High Violets - Heroes and Halos: Haven't been able to get into this. :( Too pop or... something.
