Directly before her current US tour she was on tour over here as well. She was accompagnied by Arnulf Lindner on cello and many other instruments and Che Albrighton on drums, with both appearing on the first leg of that European tour half a year ago as well, and with Arnulf regularly with her on tour since 2009. The second leg of the European Winter tour of 2016 is available as MP3 downloads. This time I've only got the Darmstadt concert which I attended. On previous tours I got more than one of the concerts, but back then the set lists were a bit different each night, while at least on this winter tour the set lists did not vary. Che's drum kit (is he on the US tour as well?) is about the smallest drum kit I've seen live, and despite the very limited number of instruments he does get a fair amount of sound(s) out of them! While I also love Heather's current musical style, which is a bit relaxed and softer and more acoustic, I still miss her more rock oriented style with Berit Fridahl on electric guitar. I'm pretty sure our setlist was identical to what's currently on her website for Toronto. There was a weird, persistent, quiet hiss on the sound system there last night that I've never before experienced in that venue, which is usually perfect. Hopefully it won't come through on the recording. ~Tim On Wed, Apr 13, 2016 at 11:10 AM, Ulrich Grepel wrote: > Yes, Nadia - what a pity that she had to resign playing cello due to RSI > related problems. (She's one of those people I listened to constantly in high school but never got to see live). She sounds completely magnificent. The intimate acoustic set works especially well for songs like Island and Paper Cup. Her energy is slightly introverted, w/ just a touch of 'don't harsh my mellow' that it felt like held her back just a tiny bit on some of the more angsty or uptempo tracks. But on the whole it was lovely. ~Tim On Wed, Apr 13, 2016 at 12:35 AM, Greg Dunn wrote: > Hey, Lynn! Haven't seen you since the Happy show, many moons ago. I was transferred to Buffalo about 9 years ago, but still am on the Ark mailing list. That is actually the only reason I was aware Heather was touring this area. Before I purchased a ticket to the AA show, I checked the schedule and saw Rochester. It saved me several hours of driving, but agree she is worth an 8 hour round trip!
