I love it; much more enthralling that ItToG. IMO it's her best work since End of the Summer. My favorites are: Something To Get Through - reminds me of something Thea Gilmore would sing FM Radio - catchy! Slippery Slope - great duet Here Tonight - great rhythmic love song, love the chorus, sweet guitarwork Girl of the World - nice, introspective feminist thinking Mad River - Similar to how GotW focuses on women, MR focuses (though perhaps unintentionally) on men. Johnny Appleseed - I need to read the lyrics to understand this one better, but it rocks, regardless. New York is a Harbor - perfect for those down moments http://www.monkeysfightingrobots.com/preview-dar-williams-new-album-emerald/ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 Jun 2015 16:09:04 +0000 (UTC) From: Ellen Rawson Subject: Re: Dar Williams I saw Dar on tour with Lucy Wainwright Roche opening earlier this month. Lucy sang the duet on "Slippery Slope" that night -- they sounded great! EllenB "Literature stops in 1100.
