I agree the new Sufjan Stevens is beautiful. It just went up on NPR the other day, and I've already listened to it several times. I also listened to the new Laura Marling (Short Movie) several times while it was up (it was released today) and like it more with each listen. The new Death Cab for Cutie (Kintsugi, also available on NPR's First Listen) didn't do much for me. Neither, sadly, does Angelique Kidjo's new album with the Orchestre philharmonique du Luxembourg. Her voice is great, but the orchestra arrangements aren't working for me. But, yes, the new Laura Marling and Sufjan Stevens!! The cue for this is I have rediscovered IRC because a few local Portland groups are using it to hang out, and I realized it's been 20+ years since the old #ecto days. If any of the oldtimers (or new curious folks for that matter) want to swing by to say hello or chat, I'm using the Freenode servers and I'm still using 'mooman' as my nick. I've made a #ecto channel too although at the moment it's just me in it. ;) moo. ~brian On Sun, Mar 22, 2015 at 12:00 AM, Mike Matthews wrote: > i*i*i*i*i*i > i*i*i*i*i*i > *************** > *****HAPPY********* > **************BIRTHDAY********* > *************************************************** > > *************************************************************************** > ********************** Bob Brown (no Email address) > *********************** > > *************************************************************************** > > -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- > > > -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- > > Bob Brown Thu March 22 1951 Ham > Valerie Nozick Thu March 25 1971 Aries > Tom Proven Sat March 27 1971 Eat at Joe's > Jennifer Albert Wed March 30 1966 Aries (w/Cancer > rising!:) > Warpaint Mon April 01 1991 Brilliant! > Michael Pearce Wed April 03 1946 Pegasus > Michael E. I'm still here avidly reading everything. Happy to hear that Bjork is back in musical shape. I've been really busy, having joined an all original Asheville band called The Jangling Sparrows. Really great music. We will be touring a lot, hope to get to Philly in late August. It's a blast to be out there playing at age 68! I really want to like the stuff in between, but sadly, I don't. Sort-of like post-wedding Ani DiFranco...interesting but just not appealing. A few songs off Vulnicura sound like they would have fit right in on Vespertine...a really nice sound. - --Doug On Sun, Jan 25, 2015 at 3:50 PM, Neile Graham wrote: > Interesting that the musical powers that be immediately countered the leak > of Vulnicura with a legit digital release. Wow, it's nostalgia day on ecto! Speaking of old timers... Vickie has been quite active on Twitter lately at https://twitter.com/happyrhodesfan. I don't follow her but I've seen several of her Tweets about Scientology, which have been retweeted by various church critics in advance of Sunday's showing of the "Going Clear" documentary on HBO. Vickie also has a Twitter account at https://twitter.com/happyrhodesnews which is actual Happy Rhodes news. Needless to say, there's not much activity on it.. This one was posted back in 2011 (!): Happy Rhodes News @happyrhodesnews B7 9 Aug 2011 Sharon Nichols on Facebook reveals Happy is writing songs for a new album. Could be released within the next year, & live webcast concert! :( Maybe someday... - --Sue On Tue, Mar 24, 2015 at 9:36 PM, Brian Bloom wrote: > footah! > > (in your honor Gregory, whereas most programer geeks use "foo" and "bar" as > their first two disposable variable names, .. to this day I use "foo" and > "tah"...) > > On Tue, Mar 24, 2015 at 7:40 PM, Gregory Bossert > wrote: > > > mootah! ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V16 #1360 ****************************
