Her beautiful voice gets lost in a sea of generic electronics and vocal filters. I miss the raw intimacy of "Grown Unknown". Loving the new Perfume Genius. It might not be the best introduction to his work for those unfamiliar - his last one, "Put Your Back N 2 It", is a lot more accessible, musically. The new album is darker and more artsy - with interesting themes and parallels that show up throughout the album. I feel like I keep discovering new connections and interpretations as I listen to it.
