The first album is the one I'd expect to appeal the most to ectophiles in general. I really love "Sound I See" too -- but then I love most of the songs. "The Snake & The Crocodile" is the only one that's always felt out of place to me; everything else is pretty much varying levels of bliss. > Not sure who I'd compare them to either. That's an interesting thought; it's definitely possible that there was some influence there. > I'm enjoying the lovely ballad 'Perfect Form' and the fun martial > 'Fermina Daza' (I like the folklore-ish lyrics) That inspired me to try looking up the name, and I see it's based upon the novel "Love in the Time of Cholera". I was always curious about the song title and the intent of the lyrics as I could never decide whether they were sincere, or an impish joke! > and melancholy closer 'Bring this to an end' and most of it, really. I do love that as an end to the album. > Will listen to the more recent album later. Let me know what you think when you do? It's notably different, but in some ways that makes it easier for me to enjoy it on its own merits (and I'm certainly doing that). - -Phil ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Jul 2014 11:30:42 -0500 From: Kerry White Subject: Re: Luckless - Vindication Blues I just listened to, When You Asked Her To Stay on their Facebook page. The vocal sounded, to me, like Sonja Kristina Linwood of CURVED AIR. Almost like Curved Air as a loud garage band. Here is the first song I thought of while listening, YMMV: It Happened Today, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3adUkzFIspM Or, not!!
