I have no idea how to describe what's she's doing now. Dark and folk-influenced? SZA's album 'Z' is more of the spacey R&B goodness (perhaps with a little more pop sheen) and I think Jessy Lanza, BANKS and Kill J could also be considered part of this trend although they all put a different spin on it. V V's album shows incredible growth. It's much darker and more experimental than what she did previously but still full of hooks.. perhaps even catchier than her debut (for me, at least). She has also drastically re-arranged "Shark in the Water" from the debut, it's included on the (sadly digital-only) deluxe edition, though I'd say it's the only track I tend to skip. I also forgot to add Polly Scattergood to my list, she should have been placed before Owl Eyes. Alice Boman is another one who I need a full album from first. So far, her debut EP of actual demos has floored me. - --Andrew 2014-05-02 17:02 GMT+02:00 Tim Jones-Yelvington : > Andrew, I had no idea V V Brown had released a second record that was a > huge stylistic departure from the first -- it sounds fascinating and > intense, I cant wait to hear it.
