B I did learn about her from ecto--I think Anna-Maria Stjarnell posted about her first (that I remember).B I find both albums very good--falling into the beautiful and fierce category.B She has the spirit and artistic ambition of Veda Hille--but with a very different sound, and while not quite as proficient a piano player, she still has an amazing sense of lyricism, emotion, and melody .B Her arrangements in terms of how she uses instrumentation, vocalB arrangements, etc. are really quiteB refined and mature, but not overly produced. B B The variety of theB songs is also quite impressive--but all immediately identifiable as her through the piano and her strong, but vulnerable voice. At times she can sound quite pop, but there is a lot more going on in her songs.B Dirty Dancing for example sounds almost like 50's Doo Wop--at first it was easy to throw away as a pop song, but is weirdly, intensely autobiographical on closer listens--lyrics really describing and capturing that feeling of a first crush. I went ahead and grabbed a vinyl copy of "Until Death Comes", too. Vinyl copies of anything apart from "Thriller" can be very ephemeral and you're best advised to grab 'em when you see 'em. Her more recent stuff is digital and therefore "available", I need to catch my breath with all the ecto I've bought recently to get caught up. And I thought I was au courant. Yipes. I have to say, I'm loving this overall so far, of course I'm one of the people (in the minority, it seems) who really appreciated the new version of Deeper Understanding. It was great to listen to Flower on the Mountain and hear her original intention come to fruition. So far there's been something interesting on every track, but I have to say the new version of "This Woman's Work" just blew me away when it came on. Only about half way through at this point...
