[meredith ] Fwd: MBD on TV - June 22nd [Paul Blair ] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon, 21 Jun 2010 07:11:35 -0400 From: meredith Subject: Rachael Sage in the UK & Ireland this week :) Hi, Greetings from London!! A last-minute note for the UK ectophiles amongst us, and if there are any lurkers in Ireland ... Rachael Sage is doing a few shows over here this week and next! Tonight (6/21) we celebrate Midsummer at The Social in London (5 Little Portland Street), starting at 8pm. It's a special evening where "Kilford The Music Painter", an artist with synesthesia paints what he sees as the music is being performed. It should be fascinating. :) This will be webcast live, so check the following link. Rachael's on first around 8:30 pm (3:30 pm Eastern), then a band called Swami. Info here: http://bit.ly/by4OcR Tomorrow night (6/22) we're in Leicester, at The Musician on Clyde Street. Rachael is opening for Emily Baker at 9pm. Then, after taking a ferry across the Irish Sea, it's a busy busy day on the Emerald Isle: 10:15 am Rachael will appear live on the Peter Kenny show on RTE Radio One in Ireland. (I think this is streamed live?) 10:00 pm Rachael plays at Katy Dalys in Belfast, come on over it's free! On Friday and Saturday she will be performing at Dublin Pride, at three separate events: * 6/25 Women's Night at Tripod on Harcourt Street (9:30 pm) * 6/26 Pride Party In The Park at Civic Offices Amphitheatre (3:30 pm) * 6/26 White Party at Tripod on Harcourt Street (9:00 pm) (no, I didn't know Dublin had a LGBT Pride either. I'm impressed. :) Then, finally next Wednesday, June 30 we'll be back in London for a media/industry showcase at The Soho Theater on Dean Street, which is open to the public but you need to get on the door list first. The Jewish News is giving away 25 tickets to the first people who respond to their contest, so go fill up their list here: http://bit.ly/db1JYd If you'd rather not go through those motions and see a show surrounded by distributors, journalists, radio people etc., follow us over to the Vauxhall Tavern at 9pm for "Femmes On The Thames", where Rachael will be part of a night of cabaret, music and comedy by female artists. She'll give a little preview of her new show that she'll be doing at the Edinburgh Fringe in August. *whew* I need more tea. Hope to see all you usual UK suspects this week, and meet some new people too! Uh yeah, so the time change is kicking my ass and I'm delirious. The Irish radio thing and Belfast are both on Thursday the 24th. I don't know if you all know Sarah Blasko. i managed to catch a screening of her concert last year highlights here: http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/live/latw/sessions/s2902631.htm I really love her first costume! Also, my wonderful husband was drawn the instantly recognisable tones of KaTe emanating from our TV as we were feverishly getting ready to go away for the weekend and recorded it for me. It was the video for Hammer Horror which I haven't seen before! It turns out they had previously played Sally Seltmann, formerly known as New Buffalo, who has a beautiful voice and has just brought out a stunning new album called Heart that's Pounding. Check out Sally's site at http://www.sallyseltmann.com/ and the Ecto bracket between 8.30 and 9.30 at the ABC website: http://www.abc.net.au/rage/playlist/print/saturdayam_print.htm Cheers Amanda ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ooooooooooooooooooo~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Amanda Williams Anjali Natural Healing http://www.anjali.com.au/ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Jun 2010 07:51:23 -0700 From: "Onna" Subject: Re: new weepies and sarah mclachlan I bought the new Sarah M.
