My husband's dad died 10 year's ago. He had quite a collection of big band and jazz records and he was the type to keep things in meticulous condition. We've got about 1/2 dz. big boxes of these in storage. It would take quite a bit of time to try and even catalogue them. Does anyone have any experience with selling album collections? I would think there would be auctioneers that specialize in this kind of thing, yet I cannot seem to find one. Obviously doing something like going the eBay route would be very time consuming.... Thanks for any help, Laura p.s. I can't believe Ellen called Idol's cover of "This Woman's Work" a Maxwell song on her show as well... ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 23 Mar 2010 09:48:06 -0400 (EDT) From: Bernie Mojzes Subject: Re: Vinyl album collection advice... There are independant record stores that deal in vinyl still. Shady Dog Records is one such in the Philadelphia area (http://www.shadydog.com/). You can also look at antique dealers who specialize in albums. Bernie > My husband's dad died 10 year's ago. Personally, I'd like to see Lilly Scott added to the linup. She was my favorite on Idol and when she was kicked off I quit watching it. If anyone deserves more attention, it's her. If you are anywhere near Rochester NY, the House Of Guitars has long specialized with used recordings. Got MANY used LP albums in the 80s and early 90s there, and it seems they still deal with them. (for those looking to purchase, they have them all catalogued...you can search for used music by format :-) http://www.houseofguitars.com/ Mike ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V15 #70 **************************
