(we actually have two Writing Cafes, and a Starbucks, all on the same block. my Writing Cafe is wacky, though, and the other one is rather solemn; they're all non-fiction down there, i suspect. Starbucks mostly has realtors...) this next bit isn't meant to be shameless. in my mind, my writing is very much "ecto", though i can't entirely describe why. i don't mean that i think y'all would necessarily like it, but rather that some of the music and discussion and general warm blue fuzziness has worked its way into my writing. not to mention the inspiration of the bulk of ecto artists who have gone and done their thing, instead of waiting for permission to speak. you have someone saying things like "i have never been afraid to change the circumstances of the world" and "words weren't made for cowards", well, that's a challenge, that is. or to put it another way: So many powerful beings So many in tune with life Imagination abounds here There's wisdom And great insight My ears are lucky to hear These glorious songs Of inspiration And voices crafted from Thunder On Jan 22, 2010, at 11:04 PM, kerry white wrote: > Hi, in my March 2010 Asimov's science fiction magazine the Next Issue > page says: "..and talented newcomer Gregory Norman Bossart, in his first > fiction sale anywhere,..." You can listen to both albums at NPR: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=98679384 Patty's is being called a gospel album, and it is, but don't let that scare you away. It's very folky. Laura Veirs' July Flame is also out. Any thoughts? I downloaded it but haven't given it a listen yet.
