It has links to all of the artists' pages and to the Knitting Factory. Listen, the vibe I am getting from the KF, is that they think this is selling out. I dunno why (it should be my right to have this info) but they won't tell me how many they've already sold, but they say a bunch. They have given us the whole PM evening (there's some dumb burlesque show at midnight). I still have a few dozen tix left that I can sell directly and since the readers of the ecto list are cool, you can get this information and no one else does. We're familiar with Noe, and I learned of Two Loons from this list (was that you, Merideth, that told us about Two Loons for Tea?). Actually, in 2005, I learned about Noe from this list, and when I first saw her (with Todd Sickafoose doing bass) sing Into the Wild, my jaw hit the floor. I don't care if nominations are closed, I truly think that Noe is a goddess. She is. And Two Loons are very defensible as ecto-artists. Sarah Scott is a wonderfully expressive vocalist and their tunes satisfy the progressive ecto criterion. Probably folks reading this are less familiar with Odessa Chen, but I must attest that she belongs in the ecto pantheon, also. Noe turned me onto Odessa (as she has for anyone who attended her gig in SF just before Christmas). Odessa should not be missed. Lastly, I like to sorta help out someone young and upcoming and deserving (sorta like I did with Casey Desmond at the Ectofest 2007). Our opener, Lee Moretti is currently local to the Boston area and has lived in Brooklyn before. She is well qualified to open for the following 3 acts. These four women (and the bands that accompany them) will rock your hosiery off (or whatever it is that's on your feet). This gig is everybit an Ectofest sans Happy. Well, at least not on stage, there might be a sorta "happy presence". ('nuf said.) Don't miss this, if you can at all avoid such. - -- r b-j rbj@audioimagination.com "Imagination is more important than knowledge." ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 15 Jan 2010 03:20:56 -0500 From: robert bristow-johnson Subject: oh, i forgot to mention... (Valentine's Eve Fest) if you want advance reservations, send $20 per human + $2.19 per order (for insurance+postage or $0.44 for just postage if you like living dangerously) in whatever form of tender you like (hell, maybe i can barter, got chickens or something?) to Robert Bristow-Johnson 151 Overland Road, #1 Waltham MA 02451 i will send tix to whatever address you say. this thing might sell out, but it hasn't yet. also, i'm open to a couple of trusted friends helping with the show. perhaps postering, or Day of Show (like manning the merch table). if this is something you might like to do, lemme know. it's unpaid volunteer, but you get passes and, some of the time, you can be off the hook and just take this in. like an Ectofest, this is an historical lineup. it would be just silly to miss this unnecessarily.
