Blip.fm will them be able to find it. Youtube videos aren't downloadable....per se, but if you have the right software - any audio is rippable from the net. Vickie has been uploading all of Happy's songs on Youtube, you may want to check those out. I only realized this on the subway home from her concert tonight. My ears heard the same influences in Elaine's own music as Paul did - shoegaze, Emily Bezar, a bit of Cocteau Twins. I'm not so into the jazzier songs but when the band gets loud and her operatic voice soars, that's something special. The recorded version of 'Rapture' (see http://www.myspace.com/elainelachica) is more dreamy and ethereal than live where the drums thunder and she sings with such power. The setlists of Pete's Candy Store, Rockwood and Spike Hill were fairly similar, so I'll have to pace myself :) I liked the a cappella singing to a crackly tape recording for the opening song at the candy store. I feel safe with Elaine's voice, knowing however loud she is or how far she leaps from note to note that she will land in the right place. Yey for operatic training! In comparison, Florence (of the machine) can be similarly loud and powerful but at Bowery Ballroom she often leapt into a wrong note and stubbornly stuck with it.
