Not sure if you've heard about this, but, as my subject says.... Laura Nyro finally is getting a shot at induction into the R'n'R hall of fame... I know I personally wrote a rather impassioned letter a few months ago, but there's actually been quite a bit of resistance on behalf of people who either aren't fans of her music, or think she should be in a non-musician (i.e., songwriter) position but not really as a performer... I think it's great she's finally getting her due, albeit 12 years after her death... Hopefully Ectophiles are pleased, too, as she really is the great earth mother (in my opinion) of the style --- several of our Goddesses might not have impacted music the way they did without her!
