Is her new album THAT bad?! Is the Tori cult on the wane? Or should we just say that the hard-core fans attended, and good riddance to the fair-weather friends and hipsters? Yeah. I like that. _________________________________________________________________ Express your personality in color! Her hard core fans are getting older (more responsibilities, less time/money to go from show to show to show) and she's not really attracting as many young fans any more. But, I can only see it as a good thing in some ways. Tori is famous. but she is not on the uptake (like in 1994), i think her popularity might have peaked 5 or 10 years ago. i dunno. when i was a student at the U of North Dakota in the '70s, i worked on the student production of concerts (called "SPOKE" Student Programming Of Kampus Events) and we put on big concerts with top-40 like bands such as Bachman-Turner Overdrive and Kiss and Alice Cooper, right around the time they were peaking in popularity, and the venue was 5K or less and not always sold out. admittedly, Grand Forks ND is not KC. but i might think that Tori was doing pretty good with 3K at any single venue. i dunno. she's not Black Eyed Peas or Linkin Park or Beyonce or Knarles Barkley or Jonas Bros. i've always put Tori in the popular niche with Ani and similar. r b-j ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V14 #221 ***************************
