Think a more agressive, punk Bat for Lashes or Sharon Worden (My Brightest Diamond), with a more powerful voice than either. The first full-length album, Lungs, was just released. Have also been enjoying Elisabeth and the Catapults, based on Meth's recommendation. Jeff n.p. Florence + The Machine - Lungs n.r. I haven't yet purchased said album, although I've listened to/watched the videos of various songs from it on-line, and I've seen her perform on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross and the BBC's coverage of Glastonbury. Just bought tickets to catch her live in Bournemouth in September. Some friends from work are going also. Today, during our lunch break (teaching ended yesterday, but we're still busy with meetings), we were downloading Florence YouTube clips. :) Here's a link to the Jonathan Ross performance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OF50LX33gQU Ellen, looking forward to Night Five of Torchwood in 45 minutes... ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V14 #190 ***************************
