I did enjoy the video for Thriller and I really like his cover of Come Together I got from a televised Beatle Tribute. Goodbye, Michael, we hardly knew (what to make of ) you. bye, KrW I'm Peter Pan! I'm perpetually young!! OW!! What's wrong with my back? ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Jun 2009 10:24:26 -0400 From: "Varker, Patrick" Subject: Thanks... Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson for the memories... Two people that had a big effect in my life from the 70's and 80's on. I'm thankful I got to see Michael perform once in Philadelphia on the "Victory" tour. Even though it was The Jacksons, there was no doubt who, just about everyone, was there to see (and he did not dissapoint)! I still have my Farrah poster and enjoy an old Charlies Angels episode every now and again. Both of you will be missed! ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Jun 2009 06:47:58 -0800 From: Adam Kimmel Subject: Passings Well, there I was being an old fart, and this morning I open the Guardian to see a full-page obit of Michael Jackson opposite a full-page obit of Farrah Fawcett, both complete with huge photos of each in their prime. Two icons from my childhood gone in one day and united in the obits page. What's happening? They were so much fun!! Piano, bass, guitar, cocktail drums, fun poppy vocals ... they have it all. Their album _Taller Children_ just came out a couple weeks ago -- I picked it up at the show and haven't had a chance to listen yet, but I look forward to it immensely. You can check out samples online: http://www.elizabethandthecatapult.com They're kicking off their first national tour -- if they're coming anywhere near you, GO SEE THEM. Trust me, you'll be glad you did. Meredith :) ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V14 #173 ***************************
