There's a clunker of a geographic lyric rhyming 'curtain call' with 'China's wall', for no purpose other than the rhyme. Very annoying since 'Curtain call' is otherwise lovely and sad. ("By the time you're 25 they will say, "you've gone and blown it"" reminds me of Ladytron's 'Seventeen' :) If you want to have some positive feelings towards the upcoming album, stay away from the 'visualettes' ie cheapo videos of blank Tori wandering around in wigs and designer dresses. I've always wanted to make a mix of soothing songs for myself, songs like the Holly Cole Trio's "Cry If You Want To" and Jane Siberry's "It Can't Rain All the Time" among others. Unfortunately, now that I really want to make the mix I can't remember what the others were. So here's hoping for suggestions.
