woohoo - can't wait! thanks for letting us know.
i absolutely adore _out_ (and _between miss scylla and a hard place_
too, though it's not *quite* on the same level) and am very happy to
hear she has a third one coming out.
i don't know more than maybe two words in polish, but i must say the
polish tracks on _out_ are among my favourites regardless (and that's
high praise for the music, since her lyrics that i *do* understand are
wonderful).

It's friggin' brilliant!!!
I thought it was called "Halo" as I looked at the artwork on her
player and saw someone else referring to it as that but - that is one
of the songs
I'll be up to speed on everything about it and her by tomorrow
Both her and Imogen Heap were in NYC but Immi has gone to Hawaii
more later
I'll post any dates and if/when CD's will be avail.
I think it is only out on iTunes so far, but will confirm tomorrow
Cheers

Delta settled with the Musicians Local 1000 union a couple years ago, and now instruments up to the
size of a standard guitar are able to be carried on for no additional fee, provided of course that
there's still room in the overhead bins when you board. Sometimes you have to show a printout of
the policy to the clueless flight attendant at the plane door, but from what I've heard it's gotten
much easier for musicians to carry their stuff on Delta lately. No word yet on whether this has yet
extended to Northwest now that they've merged, though. Most other airlines are ok with allowing
guitars to be carried on without having to quote policy chapter and verse.
For checking instruments, all the airlines carry the same risk of destruction. :} But from a cost
standpoint, Southwest is by far the best and nicest about it all. AirTran follows a close second.
JetBlue is more expensive than they used to be, but it really depends on the ticket agent you get
whether and what they charge. Northwest and American are more expensive, and I try to avoid using
them, but in case I can't I suck it up and deal. (Continental used to be in that category, but then
we got enough miles to get up to "elite" status so now it doesn't cost anything extra for anything,
so we're now Continental's most loyal customers. :) I haven't used Frontier or Alaska Airlines that
much, but I don't recall their fees being ridiculous.
If you're traveling with an instrument that's both overweight *and* oversized (like, say, a keyboard
:}), watch out for overzealous ticket agents who will try to tag you for both. More often than not
we're able to appeal to their sense of goodwill and they'll only charge us for the weight and not
the size, but it's really on a case-by-case basis. Even the airlines that used to have exceptions
in place for musical instruments have dumped those policies within the past year.
The airlines that are 100% out for us when traveling on tour due to prohibitive fees are United,
Delta, and US Airways. I don't even include those airlines in my kayak.com searches any more, and
if you're planning on flying with a piece of gear that weighs more than 50 lbs and/or is considered
oversized, you shouldn't either.
And a final note about code shares: make sure you are 100% certain which logo is actually going to
be on the plane you're flying, because that's the set of fees you're going to be expected to pay.
To take from a chapter of personal history, you could purchase a flight on AirCanada.com and think
everything's going to be just peachy, then show up to the airport and find out you're actually
flying to Toronto on a United flight, in which case you're absolutely screwed. :}

think, at least one, is little and travels in a guncase....not sure if
she is bringing her gretsch, she's leaving on a jet plane, today....

Interesting blog about Twitter retention rates. Apparently there are more than a few people who don't get Twitter either. Only 40% of people who sign up come back the next month - compared to retention rates of 70% for other social media sites (myspace, facebook, etc.)

If using Safari, install Pith Helmet; if using Firefox, install
AdBlocker Pro. Don't use IE because MS does not want you to block ads.
Life without ad blockers is a little dimmer and less enjoyable.
