I have to admit that, at the time, I was completely baffled by the music and pretended to like it. In college, however, his music clicked with me--I'm still not sure how that works. . . . Anyway, _Songs from Liquid Days_ is a fantastic album. In addition to it, the album that I listen to most often is _Piano Music_ and the album he did with Ravi Shankar _Passages_. And, _1,000 Airplanes on the Roof_ is great. And, so is _Koyaanisqatsi_ (both the cds and the movie). And and and. Anyway, I'm typing bold now and am not sure why. So, i'll quit. If you don't know his work, you should remedy that problem. :) NP Regina Spektor _Begin to Hope_ NR Charles DeLint _The Mystery of Grace_ On Apr 6, 2009, at 8:24 PM, gordodo@optonline.net wrote: > Aly wrote: "I love minimalist music as much as I love ecto"have you > given Stars of the Lid a listen?I saw them in CT a few months ago > and they were breathtaking - the entire audience was utterly > transfixed for the hour or so that they played...great stuff! Thought is an infection. In the case of certain thoughts, it becomes an epidemic. I don't know anything about the guy but he doesn't seem to have any recordings out yet. Frankly, I don't know if I'd want him in full-length mode, I think he sort of starts to sound the same after a while and there's only so much you can do with lone voice and bass guitar anyway. But I loved this song, so there it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXImi2etl7I ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V14 #98 **************************
