I'll be seeing her in London on 18 April. She's with her big band, plus Shane McGowan. Could be, um, interesting. I've not seen her live since the late '90s in Denver. I like Heather Nova's Red Bird quite a bit, I didn't know there was an even newer one. I think Robin Holcomb's newest is still John Brown's Body (or something like that??) from 2006, right? On tzadik's oracles series? I liked Lisa Germano's "In the Maybe World" a lot. I think she has a new one coming this year. I feel like I saw or hear something from Shivaree recently as well. Well, Mary Lorson released an album with Saint Low called "Realistic" a few years ago - fantastic album.. more recently, her side-project Piano Creeps have released a pretty solid album. Mary lends vocals to many of the tracks on the album. You can hear some tracks at their myspace, and the album is available at itunes and emusic, I believe: http://www.myspace.com/thepianocreeps Haven't heard news of another Madder Rose album, though. :( I'm just glad Mary continues to make music. I love her voice and her songwriting. Paul - -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "This is the time.
