I don't know if that includes the UK, though -- it's not on amazon.co.uk so I fear not. :( But if you have a friend in Germany who could get it for you from amazon.de, it's available there. It'll be out in the States on April 7, I think. I saw them again in San Francisco in November. I'd seen Sonic Boom previously, a couple of years ago, doing something very .. interesting.. but not.. not musical enough for me (it didn't help that I saw him in a terrible space where i was very uncomfortable). So I wasn't expecting to stick around for Spectrum's show at ATP, but I went to check out the beginning at least. I ended up moving all the way to the front of the crowd and loving every minute of it. I was mesmerized. I'm terrible at describing music, but I'll say .. well, this isn't "Ecto", but still enough folks here might be interested that I'd like to let the UK folks know about these upcoming shows in case anyone wants to go. I liked Pete and I'd like to support his musical efforts. :) I got to talk to him after the show at ATP - he was one of *very few* (if not the only!) artist to actually work the merch booth and sell his own stuff. he's like a low budget movie that's really really good. this is low budget music, here. he uses all sorts of devices to make interesting sounds and turn it into music, but with Spectrum and Spacemen 3 this is combined with a full band and there are really great songs. Pete Kember is a little awkward with the audience, but I found him endearing, not cold. I would really love to go see one of these shows, but a quick trip to the UK isn't in my future :/ I just have to hope they come tour the US again sometime soon. Anyway! if you might like this sort of thing and you're in the UK, give them a listen and maybe go to a show. - --jessica - ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hey folks, Just a few lines to let everyone know what's happening for SPECTRUM in the coming weeks & to thank all the folks who applied for the percussion & lead guitar posts. I was gratified to see such consistent quality amongst all those who applied. Expect the full breadth of SPECTRUM's & SPACEMEN 3's catalogue including Suicide, Revolution, How You Satisfy Me, Mary, Transparent Radiation etc. The current financial climate is scaring some of the promoters of gigs to death & if you want to guarantee your local show takes place, please buy tickets in advance as soon as possible. Most shows are in fairly intimate venues & sell out on the night is possible. It's been a long time since I played many of these cities b please let your circle of friends know & pass the info on where you see fit.
