See http://www.pjharvey.net/ - ---------- Forwarded message ---------- PJ HARVEY & JOHN PARISH ANNOUNCE UK & EUROPEAN TOUR! PJ Harvey and John Parish will embark on a UK and European tour this April and May. The tour is in support of their second collaborative album 'A Woman A Man Walked By' which will be released by Island Records on March 30th The album has been described by journalist, John Harris, as "...mischievous, deadly serious, elegant and poetic, and possessed of a brutal power it is doubtful that you will hear a record as brimming with creative brio and musical invention this year..." Beginning in the UK on April 15th in Brighton, the pair will be backed by a band comprising of Eric Drew Feldman, Giovanni Ferrario and Jean-Marc Butty and will play seven shows across the UK, with a London show at the Shepherds Bush Empire on April 20th. They will then head to Europe for a string of dates; taking in Berlin, Paris & Milan along the way. The show will feature music from both the forthcoming album as well as their first collaboration, 1996's 'Dance Hall At Louse Point'. Tickets for all shows went on sale at 9am Monday 19th January (with the exception of Oslo, which went on-sale on Wednesday 21st) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Jan 2009 21:29:08 EST From: Marypt51@aol.com Subject: Re: critical thinking vs abuse In reply to some of your comments, I did not in any way intend to suggest you should have "to help or like every musician to come your way", and as to the issue about sloppy musicianship v. the drunk performance allusion, given the past way that topic came up before, I apologize that I did not follow your meaning when you darted off in various directions in your previous reply to my post. My fault for not reading more carefully before posting, which is not a minor mistake on my part. I intended to say we can spend our time supporting what music we have energy to support, skipping spending energy on that which we do not like, not that we have to promote that which we find to not be worthy of our time. I did enjoy reading about the Blakley URL, and thanks for that. ************** A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps! I downloaded both White Birds and songs from her listening booth and just love them. Counting Waves is my fave Fimm track, while Marissa has done some marvelous work on Daisy and Violet, Fifty Five Falls, Diamond Heart, Dying Breed, Hyacinth, and Mexican Summer (my favorites). I need to go buy some CDs now...darn the luck. - --Doug ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Jan 2009 22:22:36 -0500 From: morayati@email.unc.edu Subject: 2009 releases? I, for one, am really looking forward to the new Bat for Lashes. * One list that isn't is KGRL's. http://laist.com/2009/01/01/kgrls_top_13_albums_to_watch_out_for_in_2009.php - notable for having a "stuff I actually care about" number that is greater than 0! IMHO, that's a lovely start to 2009. There might not be another album for 12 years, but at least we know KaTe is back working. I for one got a big smile on my face when I read that.
