I was thinking we were talking about a woman singing and accompanying herself strumming on the guitar and now I see we are talking about the guitarist with her. (I am juggling a lot of things besides keeping up with this thread, whcih you started so you are more tuned into the original concert at issue.) Sounds not good, just as you said. Sorry I went off on the tangents. best, Mary ************** New year...new news. Be the first to know what is making headlines. Even more impressive than that Fredrik Larsson video I found last week, if only because she's doing it in real time. (Although "Wind Waker Unplugged" still isn't getting old for me. It's a fantastic job of orchestration.) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 07 Jan 2009 11:31:31 -0800 From: birdie Subject: Jesca Hoop & Lelia Broussard at Hotel Cafe tomorrow nite LB goes on at 8pm & Jesca at 10pm LB has a residency there every thursday nite this month, ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 07 Jan 2009 22:21:38 +0100 From: =?ISO-8859-10?Q?Elin_Bekkebr=E5ten_Sj=F8lie?= Subject: Lianne Hall I first heard Lianne Hall when she played live at the Oslo Queer Festival in August last year. I had part of my wrist cut off in August and my engine just blew up and I am still on disability.. I could probably get enough to rebuild the engine, get a cheaper guitar, and invest in more loop station toys and software....leaving me basically software/virtual instrument - keyboard & pad based. Except, it was a goal of mine to get my hand well enough to play the Taylor... I can always get a less expensive one. I'll get pix of her at Hotel Cafe soon - she has a few dates coming up. She's a great inspiration... Yes, thank you very much Birdie! In addition to watching the performance videos I also watched the interview that Theresa did with Kiwibox.com Theresa really is a brilliant singer and unique musician. She seems to have a really wonderful heart and spirit as well. The technical aspect and difficulty of what she is doing is transcended by the very genuine and engaging quality of her arrangements and performances. The music seems to effortlessly flow from her soul. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-ecto@smoe.org [mailto:owner-ecto@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Jeffrey Burka Sent: Wednesday, January 07, 2009 3:53 PM To: Ecto Subject: Re: This is what I'm talkin' about...
