Turns out Happy does vocals on 3 of the songs on his EP: http://cdbaby.com/cd/oster I am completely flabbergasted. Talk about a small world. not only has Jeff worked with Happy (or is it the other way around?), but Jeff has gigged with Casey Desmond, which was sufficient for me to check her out in early 2007 in Cambridge MA. it was this connection that got me to get Casey for the opening act of the Ectofest 2007. Happy has appeared on recordings with Will Ackerman, Jeff Oster, i think David Torn, and of course Kevin Bartlett (i still think "aural gratification" is the coolest music label i have ever heard). i knew about Jeff's day job, but since i don't do the stock market outside of retirement "savings" in mutual funds (i'm skeptical if there will be anything left after the present crisis, another "thank you" to the Abomination still in the White House), i would not have expected to run into Jeff in his day job. a teeny bit OT: one of the weirdest "small world" experiences i had was when i tracked down Richard Souther (who did these two very cool CDs with a nun from Elizabeth NJ called "Vision" and "Illumination") to ask him about what he presently does in live performance. when i emailed him, he responded (by email) with "Just a guess but didn't you write the Audio EQ Cookbook?" which flabbergasted me. (unless one codes signal processing algs for audio, i wouldn't expect anyone to have known of that.) - -- r b-j rbj@audioimagination.com "Imagination is more important than knowledge." ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V13 #671 ***************************
