(Rebecca Pidgeon in NYC) Hi all, NYC-area ectophiles planning to go down to The Living Room tonight to see Anne Heaton (and y'all should, she'll have her band and Aoife O'Donovan of Crooked Still is opening) should plan to get there early. Rebecca Pidgeon is doing a rare NYC performance (one of three this week!) at 7pm. Who is Rebecca Pidgeon? Besides being David Mamet's wife, she is an actress who also happens to be a very intriguing singer and songwriter. She appears to be doing more of a jazz thing these days. Definitely worth checking out -- woj and I will be there in time to catch her set, for sure. - -- =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Oct 2008 14:08:13 -0400 From: "Jeffrey Burka" Subject: Re: How did I miss this?? Anyway, yeah, I'm jealous of New Yorkers who get to go see her *and* see Anne Heaton! me, I'll go home and cook dinner. jeff n.p. _Spark Large_, Marching Band n.slogging.through. _Anathem_, Neal Stephenson ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Oct 2008 12:11:23 -0700 From: birdie Subject: Richard Wright memorial celebration Hi For those in the UK, there is a celebration of Richard Wright (pink floyd keyboardist/songwriter) coming up, I think on the weekend. My friend Durga is heading out from LA on thursday for it - she will be singing Rick's song "The Great Gig in the Sky". I didn't think to ask her if it was going to be public or private and didn't find anything on a quick google, but perhaps better luck finding out over there is interested. He didn't want a memorial service - but rather a celebration. Cheers Birdie ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V13 #628 ***************************
