Today's Subjects: ----------------- Claire Diterzi [Neile Graham ] [Fwd: I'm home and recording in Senegal was WONDERFUL!] [meredith Subject: Claire Diterzi A couple of years ago Anna Maria mentioned Claire Diterzi, a French artist. I didn't pay any attention then, but I recently ran across her name again and ended up buying her two most recent albums, _Boucle_ and _Table de Chasse_ and they are WONDERFUL. A mix of Kate Bush inventiveness, a little Middle Eastern influence, one song that reminds me of Kym Brown's _Pgymalion_...really, just wonderful, energetic, creative music and interesting voice and a confidence with experimenting that really won me over. Highly, highly recommended. I ended up ordering them through amazon.fr because it looked like that would parse out less expensive than as an import through a U.S. seller, but I would recommend getting hold of them any way you can. There are samples at her website http://www.clairediterzi.fr/ a video + live stuff on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjiCHGTe_mo, a myspace page http://www.myspace.com/diterzi Check her out if you like more experimental, over-the-top music. - --Neile - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ - - Neile Graham .... neile@sff.net/@zipcon.com ... www.sff.net/people/neile Les Semaines: A Weekly Journal ........ www.sff.net/people/neile/ semaines Editor, The Ectophiles' Guide to Good Music ........... www.ectoguide.org Workshop Administrator, Clarion West ................ www.clarionwest.org ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Sep 2008 22:09:21 -0400 From: meredith Subject: [Fwd: I'm home and recording in Senegal was WONDERFUL!] From Ashley Maher. Do click the links and read her blog, it's a great story. Wow, I can't wait for this new CD to be out -- it's going to be amazing. And if there's any justice in the world, it'll finally put her on the World Music map where she belongs.
