I have to admit my ears perked up when I heard the name Jeff Hanson, thinking of ecto's own Jeff Hanson, of course, but this is a singer/songwriter from Minnesota whose falsetto voice sounds rather uncannily like a woman's -- in fact, if I'd heard it without the name attached, I would have jumped to the conclusion that it was a female singer. You can hear some songs at his MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/jeffhanson He has a new album out called "Madam Owl." - --Sue ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 20 Aug 2008 06:58:09 -0400 From: Jeffrey Burka Subject: Re: Anyone heard of Jeff Hanson? sue sez: > a singer/songwriter from Minnesota whose falsetto voice sounds rather > uncannily like a woman's Holy crap. Yes, didn't you all know that I have several albums out and sing like a girl. :) I obviously was aware of him as well, as many people over the years have asked me if I knew of him. I finally got one of his CDs "Son" through LaLa and find his music very pleasant, but not super compelling. Will be interested in hearing comments on the new album. Personally I prefer Casey Stratton if I want guys that sound like girls, but then I've always liked piano-based music over guitar-based. The Other Jeff Hanson n.r.
